Document Abstract
The present study surveyed the library facilities in various institutions affiliated to bilaspur university. Eighteen colleges (Government=09, Semi-government=08 and Autonomous=01) affiliated to Bilaspur Unversity, Bilaspur (Chhattisgrah) were selected for the study. The questionnaire was framed and constructed under the supervision of the experts in concerned field, with utmost care and seriousness of the purpose, taking into consideration the maximum coverage of the area of the study concerned with relevant aspects needed for the study. The Questionnaires were arranged in logical order and each question worked clearly to receive desired response without undue problem. The questionnaire were prepared taking consideration various aspects like general information, library facilities, budget, books, journals, new papers etc., so as get maximum worthwhile detailed and meaningful information from the sample. The results of study revealed that Most of the college in Bilaspur region established in between 1956-2016.. The facility of library building .was found in less than colleges. Seventy five percent of colleges affiliated to BUB had provision of furniture and computer for students.. More of than 75 % colleges affiliated to BUB were found to have reading materials in college library for students. Most of the colleges affiliated to BUB had sufficient number of research Journals and news papers in college library. The provision of budget to purchase reading materials was found in few college library affiliated to BUB of Chhattisgarh. More of than twenty five percent colleges had provision of grant from Central and state Government. More of than twenty five percent colleges had did not have any grant from Central and state Government.
